Good morning and welcome to Monday Momentum here on Digital Brew. If you don't know me, my name is Brian Colburn. I am the author creator here on Digital Brew. It is our mission to help content creators create their content, no matter the medium. I wanna talk about a couple of things today. First, welcome back from the holiday season.
I know I enjoyed. Two weeks, almost two weeks away from a computer. Um, I did log on a couple of times just to catch up on some email and handle a few tasks. However, I had a great two weeks of rest and relaxation, which is giving me the momentum to charge ahead for 2025. I remember having such a hard time transitioning from 1979 to 1980 on the top of my papers.
I had to turn in in elementary school. And it's 2025 now. Yes, I'm old. Um, first and foremost, I wanna talk about recognizing and celebrating the small wins. Um, for those of you who don't know me, know me, uh, I am on a quest this year to lose some weight and increase, uh, my health and become more physically fit.
And today, I, I can honestly say I was a little crushed. I stepped on the scale. Monday is my weigh in day, and I only lost 0.6. Of a pound, so just over half a pound and I was discouraged and I had to step back and take a look at that and say, you know what, no, it is a win and I need to recognize it as a win, and I need to celebrate it as a win.
If you wanna follow me on that journey, I've got a Facebook group called The Healthier Path. I'll throw a link in the show notes if you'd like to join me over there to encourage me and or. Jump on this train and fulfill your physical goals, physical fitness goals, health goals for 2025, but it's important that we recognize and celebrate these wins.
Yes, I wish I could have done more. Obviously that was a little unrealistic given the work I'd put in over the last week, but it's still a win and I'm pumped up and I'm motivated and now. I have a new goal to lose more than just over half a pound for next week. Now, how can we cr push this over to content creation?
Number one, gaining a follower is huge and we need to recognize that. We need to celebrate that. We need to ensure we're reaching out to them and saying, Hey, thanks for following me. Um, number two, crushing those downloads. Achieving more downloads in the first 24 hours of a release of anything than we had previously is a win.
Recognize that, celebrate that, and it pumps us up. It motivates us, it helps us continue with that positive momentum. Um, secondly, I've been asked why soft skills Sunday and I. I, I wanna share some stories. A, a, let's say a story. I've been working with interns from a local California state university, and a lot of the interns that have come to me, in my opinion, lack the soft skills, and I've realized that a lot of creators.
Kind of lacking the soft skill we get so involved with the content in which we create. It's easy to neglect other skills that we need to grow and mold for professionalism, for growth, for increased sales. So I wanted to throw soft skills Sunday together because we need to continue to grow in other areas.
Then just with the content, we're dedicating so much time to in creating, becoming a better communicator, becoming a better salesperson, becoming a better listener. These are all things that are gonna help our content gain a wider audience. So that's why Soft Skills Sunday is about. That's it for today's Monday Momentum.
I hope everybody has a great 2025 planned out. If you do not. If you're struggling, setting goals, accomplishing goals, mapping out a production plan, hit me up. I coach content creators. Everything I do is to help content creators create their content and get it in front of the world. We'll see you next week.
Thanks for watching. Talk Soon.
