Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Monday Momentum number 18.

My name is Brian Colburn. If you are new to the Digital Brew, I'd like to welcome you and thank you for checking out this video today.

Quickly, I want to talk about momentum. When we start a project. Momentum can be slow. The energy, the excitement about it can be high, but the progress and accomplishing it may be a little slow, and that's okay.

What I want to share is improving the momentum of any project. Takes intention and we intentionally need to work on it, improve upon it, calendar time, maybe learn, watch some training videos, depending on what it is you're trying to increase momentum on.

Well, I'm excited to share with you that I am launching.

What's the Sitch? It is a storytelling open mic.

That I'm launching over on the Skyler Network. I'll put a link to it in the video if you'd like to check it out.

Joining my community over there is absolutely free.

However, there are a couple of paid groups that will be coming online, and the first one is, the Sitch and the Sitch is where we're gonna house this storytelling project, and I want you to think about what story you can share, what story you maybe want to improve upon.

And it's funny, the way I'm approaching this with my stories is. I'm pushing record and I'm telling the story as I remember it, and it might be a little out of order and it might not be compelling because I'm doing a brain dump from my memory. However. Once I have that on a page where I can see the words, I can recall things that might enhance the story, maybe I'll reorder things to the way they actually happened versus the way that initial brain dump um, occurred.

And that's when the refining process for me is starting. I'm going to. Use some word craft to the best of my ability. I'm going to add to take away, refine, dust it off and make it a better story. In my mind, I want compelling. I want to grab the audience and bring them in. I want them to feel as if they're next to me as the story unfolds.

So this new project, the Sitch is going to house. Virtual events called What's Your Sitch? And this is the cool thing. We're gonna run three seasons a year. The first three months of a season are going to be storytellers. Come watch, come, participate, tell your story. Use it as a platform to practice the delivery, to practice the story, and have fun. That's what this is about. This community is going to be storytellers telling their stories.

Now, some of the nights are gonna be themed, so you may pick a night to tell a story that fits with the story you want to tell or the story that you're working on. But the end result is you're gonna have some canned stories that you've honed, that you're comfortable telling, and you can use these say out with friends, at a dinner party in a business meeting, during a presentation in front of colleagues and friends or customers. But you're gonna have had practiced this, refined the story and had a good time.

So, three months of storytelling, up to 10 stories an evening, virtually online from the comfort of your own home, the fourth month.

The winners of the previous three months are gonna be invited back for a legends round and when and if you win, you will be. That's my Sitch legend. Whatever year we're hosting in this year is 2025. I'm going to mail to you. Your reward? Yes, a little pin that you can put on your bag, backpack lapel if you choose.

But a little token for participating in this and, and recognition for being the best storyteller for the season. Only three pins are gonna be issued a year, so I really want you to look at this as an opportunity to learn and grow as a storyteller. I'm excited to launch this.

I'm a little nervous about some of the stories I'm working on. I have a few in the works refining, if you will, but I'm excited about this and yes, I'm gonna blunder, I'm gonna misspeak. I'm I'm, but it's a great place to do it. It's a safe place with like-minded storytellers coming together to practice this craft of becoming a better storyteller.

I hope you'll join me in the community and I hope you'll participate at the Sitch and come tell your story. We'd love to hear 'em.

That's it for today's Monday Momentum. I hope to see you there.
