Good morning and welcome to Monday momentum.

Today, I want to talk about inspiration and where we can find it.

But before we do that, I first want to say happy 249th birthday to the Marine Corps. I having served as a Marine. Uh, it's a special day still. Uh, it's, it's the brotherhood. If you know, you know.

And I'd like to say happy Veteran's Day.

And thank you to all of those who have served. No matter the uniform, no matter the job. I am fortunate enough to be able to sit here today and talk to you. Because of those individuals who have gone before us and. Um, it's also a special date to me, so thank you.

Inspiration.

I have a hard time sitting still. I will walk outside with a cup of coffee. And it's hard for me just to be in the moment. I will, water plants. I'll just find something to do. While I'm sipping that coffee. And I need. To relax. I need to sit down. And utilize that time. For inspiration. And for me, looking at the sky, looking at the green grass, looking at the flowers, growing. It is calming and it's also inspirational to me. And sometimes I have a hard time, being inspired. And one trick that I've learned to use over the last 10 years is when I am feeling that I open up that mission statement for whatever project I'm working on and I read it. And to me that is truly the most inspirational thing I can do in the moment, with that task at hand. And I'm glad that no matter what project I start. I first start by writing a mission statement for that project.

So if you don't. I encourage you to do so when I encourage you to use it as a tool, something to reflect on when decisions need to be made. Something to reflect on when you're just not in the right head space to work on that project. Um, But it's, it's worked well for me.

You know, sitting still, I I'm a fan of Yellowstone. And one thing I realized last night as part two, two season five, the last season started. They take the time. And when I say they, the characters, to sit on the porch and enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink at the end of the day. Um, unless your Beth, then you'll drink in the morning. But. Sitting still and just pondering life and enjoying the moment is something that would be very inspiring to me, and that's something I need to work on, and I will.

Um, One thing that inspires me is history. I love looking back at history. Andy. If you're watching this on substack or in the app, please go to the article and scroll down. I want to share an image with you that I actually took this last weekend. And because I like history and I live here in California, you know, we have a lot of history that predates America. And an image was taken of me by my wife. Touching Palm. On a great vine. The mother vine. That was planted in 1775. And that great vine here in Los Angeles. Is older than America.

And that causes me to pause and think and reflect back at. You know, those who have gone before us and the work that they did to establish in this case, Los Angeles as Los Angeles.

Um, but that's a very inspirational thing for me to do is to connect with history. Um, in, in such a fashion where I can touch it. And that inspires me. And I think it put me in a reflective state, um, over the weekend that in combination with Veteran's Day in the Marine Corps birthday, and those that have gone before. And those that we've lost along the way.

But it motivates me to keep going.

It motivates me to create content. It motivates me to help others. And hopefully you're finding these Monday. Momentum's helpful, and inspirational, but that's, what's on my heart this week. And I wanted to share with you today on this Monday, momentum. I hope you guys just kick off the week, full of energy and keep that momentum going.

We'll see you next week.
